He was predeceased by : his father Ralph Griffey; his brother Glenn Griffey; his grandparents, Ruby Slaven, Homer and Florence Heflin; and his brother-in-law Gerald Phelps.

He is survived by : his mother Bonnie Griffey; his daughter Bridgett; his son-in-law Glenn Elwood "Blues"; his grandchildren, Tony Griffey, CJ Matthews and Dee Matthews; his siblings, Tina Griffey Phelps and Tom Griffey; and his grandchildren, Abby of Autumn, DJ, Bella and Macy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
