She was predeceased by: her father John Thomas Stewart; her husband Roy H. Carter; and her siblings, James Monroe Stewart, Mack Flanary Stewart, Martha Ruth Overbay Cox, Hattie Irene Osborne, Bridgle Marie Addington, Wanda Eva Kaylor, Myrtle Lily Blevins, Alto Kate Brickey (Jo) and Helen Stewart Whittaker Milton.
She is survived by: her children, Larry Carter (Theresa) of Asheville, Lance Carter of Etowah, Carolyn Jackson (Charles) of Mills River and Pamela Sprague of Brevard; and her granddaughters, Sarah Sprague, Lindsey Sprague Crabtree and Carly Jackson Hensler. She is also survived by one great-grandchild on the way and many nieces, nephews and good friends.
