He was predeceased by: his parents, Isaac Farner and Della Mae Farner; and his siblings, Lucille McAllister, Clarence "Bud" Farner, Geneva Underdown, Elizabeth Dixon, Kenneth Farner, Glenn Farner and Harold Dean Farner.

He is survived by: his children, Linda Elrod and John Farner; his children-in-law, Jeff Elrod and Angel Farner; his grandchildren, Brian Elrod (Chelsea), Morgan Farner, Blake Elrod (Danielle), Will Farner, Christopher Farner, Joshua Farner, Christian Spears and Nathan Spears (Jen); his great grandchildren, Cooper Newman, Brynleigh Elrod, Eamon Spears, Liam Spears and Remington Spears; and his sisters, Zelphina Dipierro and Nancy Henry.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Wesleyanna Methodist Church, P.O. Box 392, Etowah, TN 37331.
