George Watkins Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of George Watkins of Etowah, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 4, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Watkins and Rosella Watkins of Athens, TN; his sister Charlotte Whitted (Jimmy Watkins) of Athens; and his grandson Coty Harris of Decatur, TN.. He is survived by: his wife Donette Moses Watkins; his sons, Shane, Whitney Watkins, Tracy and Jaynel Watkins; his grandchildren, Brandon Watkins (Jessica), Chelby Harris, Jaynessa Carlson, Olivia Watkins and Jackson Watkins; his great grandchildren, Delayne Harris, Liam Harris, Bryleigh Watkins, Ace Watkins and Bexley Watkins; his brother John; his sister-in-law Mary Lou Watkins; his sister Jane; and his brother-in-law Jimmy Knox. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bordwine Funeral Home (203 Ohio Ave, Etowah, TN 37331). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A reception will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery (393 Co Rd 616, Athens, TN 37303).
