He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Cox and Ruth Cox; his wife Anne Norwood Cox; his sister Sue (Bob Stewart); and his siblings-in-law, Pamela Jean Cox, Harry E. Parker and Raymond Land.

He is survived by: his children, Jerri Anne Coleman (Dennis) of Englewood and Jason Cox of Etowah; his granddaughters, Samantha and Isabella Coleman of Englewood; his siblings, Billie Parker of Benton, Jackie McClary (Frank) of Etowah, Johnny Cox of Sweetwater and Melinda Land of Etowah; and his cousin Steve Cox.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial contributions be made to the McMinn Regional Humane Society.
