He was predeceased by : his parents, James Everett Lawson and Gladys Zeulah Lawson (Stapp); his former life partner Anita Ruth Lawson (Baker); his children, Clarence Odean Lawson, Jr. and Linda Armstrong (Scot); his grandson John William Gross; his siblings, Wanda Lawson Bivens, Bobbie Lawson Barnwell, Dexter Lawson and Shelby Lawson Brewer; and his daughter-in-law Kathy Davis.

He is survived by : his wife Margie Lawson; his children, Patricia Gross (Roger), Karen Korbe (Russell), Carol Locke (Steve), Amy Doyle, Tammy Kane (Kevin), Jennifer Johnson, Tim Davis and Becky Henderson (Winford); and his brother Dwight Lawson (Marlene). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
