He was predeceased by: his parents, Bennetta Neal and Finis Porter; his stepfather Robert Neal; his sisters, Bobbie Sue Neal Coppinger and Faye Hooper; his aunt Lou Yates; and his uncle Elvis Yates.
He is survived by: his wife Vera Porter; his children, Theresa Porter and Charles Porter (Vicky); his grandchildren, Joshua Porter (Blair), Farran Mott (Curtis) and Oakley Honeycutt (Dana); and his sisters, Wanda Neal Hooper (Bill Young), Debra Ashburn (Gilbert) and Sherry McCrickard. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
