He is survived by: his wife Shirlene; his children, Jamene Brooks-Kieffer, James Brooks, III and Jodie Brooks; and his siblings, Jonathan Brooks, Ricky Brooks, Nancy Riddle, Patricia Collins, Joan Tolley and Naomi Rubley. He is also survived by three granddaughters.
