He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Dawson and Elva Dawson; and his brother Terry Dawson. He is survived by: his wife Tiny Dawson; his children, Melissa "Missy" Puckett, Richie Dawson (Felicia Metcalf) and Ashley Grills (Daniel); and his siblings, Lloyd Dawson, Jane Dickerson, Patty Smith and Reba Salyers. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
