It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Brenda Smith of Fayetteville, Tennessee, who passed away on November 9, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Odie Coats and Nellie Taylor Coats; and her brother Dwight Coats. She is survived by: her husband G. T. Smith; her sons, Carey Smith (Gisela) and Scotty Smith; her grandchildren, Tyler Smith (Shelby), Ashley Smith (Eric), Celica Mitchell (A. J.), Noah Smith, Alex Allar and Kerri Laray Smith; her great grandchildren, Zeke Mitchell, Opie Mitchell, Ace Mitchell, Marley Elliott, Lane Elliott and Jayden Hasting; her siblings, Sandra Kennemer Satterfield (Gerry), Kala Gardner, Donna Ashley (Larry), Debbie Bell (Rodney), Aaron Coats (Janice) and Alton Coats (Melba); and her close friend Jennifer Sullivan.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 12th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home (508 W College St, Murfreesboro, TN 37130). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
