He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lucas Wells, Jr. and Mary Ruth Vincent Wells; his brother John L. Wells, III; and his great grandchild Mari Evan Wilkerson. He is survived by: his wife Mary Kay Hall Wells of Finley, Tennessee; his daughters, Dawn Priest (Robbin) of Obion and Tracye Myers (Jim) of Medina, Tennessee.; his grandchildren, Ashton Wilkerson (Tevin), Allison McCann (Ryan), Wells Myers, Colby Priest (Macy) and Bryan Myers; and his great grandchildren, Emi Wilkerson, Madi Grace McCann and Elijah "Eli" McCann.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 22nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Johnson-Williams Funeral Home (239 E Main St, Newbern, TN 38059). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 22nd 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
