He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Ray and Lilla Tipton Ray; his son James "Keith" Ray; and his brothers, Eddie Ray and Emmit Wippie Ray.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Mae Cutshall Ray; his daughter Selena Ray Hoyle (Jimmy); his grandchildren, Brandon Lee Randolph, Coby Low Ray (Alex) and Jaxson Jay Hoyle; his great grandchild Ivy Grace Withers; and his siblings, Doyle Tipton, Phillip Ray (Jeannie) and Jane Ann Pate (Bill). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
