He is survived by: his siblings, Geneva Ann Hensley (Dallas) and Jimmy Wayne Tilson; his nephew Daniel Wade Hensley; his son Jason Shelton; his grandchildren, Gavin Shelton, Chloe Shelton and Alanah Shelton; his great grandchildren, Elijah Shelton and Freya Shelton; his close friend Betty Jo "Josie" Moore; Delores Tipton and Renee Moore.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Luther Hensley Cemetery.
