He was predeceased by: his parents, John William Hughes and Millie Florence Allen Hughes; and his siblings, Essie Mae Norman, Linda Lamm and Eddie Truesdale.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Ann Hughes of Franklin, TN; his children, Pete Hughes (Linda) of Franklin, TN, Denise Wilson (Doug) of Crestview, FL, Theresa Mulhauser (Bob) of Chapel Hill, TN and Rhonda Douglas (Brad) of Chapel Hill, TN; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeff, Douglas, Daniel and Natalie; his great grandchildren, Cason, Harrison, Jones, Ava, Colton and Lucas; and his brother Warren Hughes (Marion) of El Paso, TX..
