He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Peterson and Lester Peterson; his sisters, Jackie Olson and LeRae Wright; his brother-in-law John Olson; his nephew Steve Olson; and his friend Bob Wick.

He is survived by: his wife Susan Peterson; his children, Danielle Kirchner (Kyle), Erin Shook (Brian) and Brian David Peterson (Ellen); and his grandchildren, Hadleigh, Sawyer, Ellie Kate Kirchner, Bennett, Everett Shook, Rex and Ivy Peterson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
