He was predeceased by: his wife June Sweeney Hood; his parents, Howard Leonard Hood, Sr. and Rose Bell Hood; and his siblings, Howard Hood, Jr., Reba Warf, Dorothy Rose Williams, James William Hood and Margaret Ann Hood.

He is survived by: his children, Eddie Hood (Terri) and Sheila Reed (David); his grandchildren, Tiffany Hood, Chelsea Hood, Casey Reed (McKenzy) and Ryan Reed; and his great grandchild Jack Tucker Reed.

Memorials may be made to Cowles Chapel United Methodist Church.
