She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer Duncan and Mabel Duncan (Long); her husband J. Wayne Gilmer; her brother Van Duncan; and her grandparents, William T., Mary Lora Duncan (Brown), Henry Hugh and Hattie Long, Jr. (Coble).

She is survived by: her children, Scott Gilmer (Amber) and Shelby (Michael); her grandchildren, Adaline Gilmer, Hope Manuel (Connor), Hunter Olds (Emily), Sydney Olds, Skylar Olds, Lawson Olds, Brady Elswick, Brooks Elswick, Noah Elswick and Amber Dales (Travis); and her great grandchildren, Sage Manuel and Bentley Dales.
