He was predeceased by: his parents, Eleanor Ester Gagush Simms and Russel Henry Simms. He is survived by: his wife Alva Calloway Simms; his children, Chris Mayer (Bob) of Howell, MI, Darlyn and Jim "Jamie" Simms (Rhonda) of Murfreesboro; and his brothers, Richard Simms (Nancy) of Dearborn, MI and Ronnie Simms of Taylor, MI.. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
