He was predeceased by: his wife Louise Overbey Givens; his parents, John Sr. Givens and Ludie Pewitt Givens; and his sisters, Irene Givens and Alma Rowe.
He is survived by: his children, Donald L Givens (Anita) and Rebecca Givens Stanley; his grandsons, Shane Meador (Johanna) and Don Givens Jr. (Tiffany); and his sister-in-law Sonja Cummings. He is also survived by 3 great grandchildren.
