He was predeceased by: his parents, Belton Sims and Lois Irwin Sims; and his brother James Ray Sims. He is survived by: his wife Martha Roberts Sims; his children, Beth Sims of Columbia, Tennessee and Chris Sims (Carla) of Harvest, Alabama; and his grandchildren, Joy Shepherd (Greg Skibinski) of Birmingham and Alan Shepherd of Harvest, Alabama.. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many dear friends.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Williams Memorial Gardens (3008 Columbia Ave, Franklin, TN 37064).
