He was predeceased by: his parents, Fletcher Merle and Velma Rogers Hewitt. He is survived by: his wife Anita Gage Hewitt of Friendship; his sons, Cary Hewitt of Friendship and Jackie Hewitt; his sisters, Virigina McGee and Little Joyce Hewitt of La Cygne, KS; and his grandchildren, Keith, Courtney, Caitlin, Charlie, Corallynn and Darryl. He is also survived by 22 great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Friendship United Methodist Church.
