He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Baxter and Jewel Baxter; his parents-in-law, Nelle and Alvin Brown; his siblings, John (Olga Baxter), Betty (Sharky Cox), Melba (Jack Bruce) and Genny; his sisters-in-law, Becky Davis and Anne Mills; and his grandson Cody Dale Saunders.

He is survived by: his niece Lori; his children, Preston and Kimberlee Baxter; his grandchildren, Ellee and Ian (Preston); his great grandchildren, Harper and Bryer Payne (Danielle); his caregiver Lindsey; Billie Brown Saunders, Vicki and Larry Wilson.
