He was predeceased by: his mother Geraldine Mingus (White); and his brother-in-law John W. Tullis. He is survived by: his wife Sherrie Reep Mingus; his children, Janelle Mingus (Shayne Gallaher), Charlene Mingus, Waylon Mink (Melanie) and Elizabeth Trexler (David); his grandchildren, Finn, Nora Gallaher, Jacob, Cameron Mink and CJ Trexler; his siblings, Jimmy Mingus and Lisa Mingus Tullis; and his niece Eva Rhea.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks those who are able to instead make a donation to the Tennessee Wildlife Federation at 300 Orlando Ave, Nashville, TN 37209 or the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Foundation at 306 W Main St, Frankfort, KY 40601.
