He was predeceased by: his parents, John William Allen and Dottie Mae Carter Chaffin; his wife Wava Martin Allen; his siblings, Betty Flatt, Violet Martin, Janice Mitchell, Kenneth Allen and Billy Gene Allen; his son Ross Allen; and his daughter-in-law Diane Allen.

He is survived by: his children, Steve Allen (Anita) of Dodson Branch, TN, Dwayne Allen of Dodson Branch, TN and Tina Maynard (Bruce Smallwood) of Gainesboro, TN; his brothers, Larson Allen (Velma) of Rickman, TN and Toy Allen (Linda) of Gainesboro, TN; his brother-in-law Don Mitchell; his grandchildren, Eric Bartholomew (Kecia) of Gainesboro, TN, Steve Allen (Kendra) of Baxter, TN, Jonathan Allen (Allison) of Dodson Branch, TN, Blake Allen (Stephanie) of Gainesboro, TN, Kaleb Allen of Dodson Branch, TN, Nicholas Maynard (Holli) of Gainesboro, TN, Jeremy Jackson of Bloomington Springs, TN, Jordan Allen (Tori) of Hilton Head, SC, Tori Jackson of Dodson Branch, TN and Austin Cantrell (Kellie) of Rickman, TN; and his great grandchildren, Ashton Allen, Lily Bartholomew, Luke Bartholomew, Kaylee Allen, Noah Allen, Ronin Allen, Jaylee Cantrell, Jett Cantrell and Landon Middleton.
