Melissa leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Melissa’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Melissa will carry forward her memory in their hearts.

She was predeceased by: her father James Earnest Litchford; and her son James Ray Hammock. She is survived by: her mother Mary Ann Rush Litchford of Cookeville, TN.; and her siblings, Stanley Litchford (Hessie) of Cookeville, TN and Teressa Paulk (Curtis) of Cookeville, TN.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home, Inc. (2131 S Grundy Quarles Hwy, Gainesboro, TN 38562). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
