It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ray Stafford (Gainesboro, Tennessee), who passed away on September 29, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Henderson Stafford and Lucenda Haney Stafford; and his siblings, Clifford Stafford, Nannie Bell Mayberry, Mattie May Stafford, Fred Stafford, Brinie Jewell Hammock, James H. Stafford, Eugene Stafford, Ona Elizabeth Hix and Roger Stafford.
He is survived by: his wife Bunie Flatt Stafford; his sons, Gary Ray Stafford (Margie) of Gainesboro, TN and Jackie Stafford (Jeff Duffer) of Nashville, TN.; his grandchildren, Jacob Stafford (Grace), Samantha Brown (Derek) and Holly Hillis (Alex); and his great grandchildren, Sadie Brown, Weston Ray Brown and Max Hillis of Gainesboro.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home, Inc. (2131 S Grundy Quarles Hwy, Gainesboro, TN 38562). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Pharris Cemetery or the Tannehill Lodge Children's Christmas Fund.
