He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Hooper Jones and Anna Ruth Brown Jones; and his siblings, Kelly Jones, Larry Jones, Charles Jones, Houston Jones, Maudine Gore, Pauline Holland and Mildred Dennis.
He is survived by: his wife Lena Ruth Jones; his daughter Sherry Turpin (Steve) of Knoxville, Tennessee; his brother Hubert Jones of Sparta, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Scott Turpin (Brittney) of Knoxville and Katy Beth Turpin of Pensacola; and his caregiver Lisa Ragland of Gainesboro. He is also survived by extended family members and friends.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Pharris Cemetery (2463 McCoinsville Rd, Gainesboro, TN 38562).
