The passing of Velma M. Hix of Gainesboro, Tennessee, born in Jackson, Tennessee leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on April 22, 2024 at the age of 93. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, James Columbus Johnson and Pearlie Mayberry Johnson; her husband J. D. Hix; and her siblings, Pete Johnson, Ernest Johnson, Robert Johnson, Zella Charles and Mary Young.

She is survived by : her children, Jim Hix (Roberta) of Cookeville and Sheila Hix Swearengin (Jack) of Gainesboro; her grandchildren, James Hix and Heather Hix Caristo (James); and her great grandchildren, Sadie Hix and Charli Caristo.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home, Inc. (2131 S Grundy Quarles Hwy, Gainesboro, TN 38562). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
