He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilfredo Nieves and America Nieves; and his brother Anthony Nieves. He is survived by: his children, Anthony, Shaundra and Nicholas; his stepdaughter Stephanie Butler; his siblings, Michael Nieves, Inez Goodson and Yadira Blackwell; and his great-niece Mia Bryant.

His legacy continues through his children, his family, and the extraordinary gift he gave through organ donation.
