He was predeceased by: his parents, John Nelson Alexander and Martha Lynn Langford; his wife Betty Anne; and his siblings, John Nelson Alexander Jr. (Blue) and Jenny Gardner Alexander.
He is survived by: his children, Mary Lynn Stratton, Anne Adams, Susanna Armbruster and J. J. Mireles; and his grandchildren, Alex Stratton, Katie Collins and Bailey Bingham.
