He was predeceased by: his father Floyd Brooks, Sr.; his wife Barbara Chandler Brooks; his daughter Stephanie Brooks; his grandson Will Reed; his great grandchild Wyatt Reed; his siblings, Eugene Brooks, Floyd Brooks, Jr., Herman Brooks, James Brooks, Robert Brooks, Howard Brooks, Larry Brooks, Georgia Brooks, Marie Pryor, Martha Hodges and Elizabeth Merrit; and his mother Fannie Moss Brooks.
He is survived by: his children, Michelle "Tootie" Madison (Mike) of Westmoreland, Sondra Brooks of Gallatin and Stevie Brooks (Brittany) of Lafayette; and his grandchildren, Matthew Madison (Mandie), Jessica Leftrick (Jason), Casey Scruggs (Jayr), Jake Sircy (Jen), Chris Kimbro (Tiffani), Brooke Perry (Jake), Connor Kirby, Carson Brooks and Levi Keen. He is also survived by 22 great grandchildren.
