He was predeceased by: his parents, Genna Ve Crawford Murphy and Francis Odell Winfree; his stepfather Fred Murphy; his father-in-law Walter Hearn Bass; his sisters, Virginia Winfree Harlin and Rebecca Ann Winfree; his sister-in-law Becky Jennings Winfree; and his pet Della.

He is survived by: his wife Debra Bass Winfree; his children, Keith Travis Winfree (Lauren) and Beth Winfree-Sparks (Ben); his grandchildren, Graci Luck (Josh), Mattie Winfree and Kate Sparks; his great grandchild Camren Reese Luck; his brothers, Richard Winfree and Kenneth Winfree; his siblings-in-law, Ginny Winfree and John Harlin; and his close friend Rosey Pearl. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
