He was predeceased by: his parents, Curt Akers and Velma Akers (Tackett); and his siblings, Joyce Akers, Ricky Akers, Gary Akers, Nona Williams and Brenda Fox.
He is survived by: his wife Diana Akers (Moore); his children, Donald Akers, Joseph Akers, Victor Akers Jr., Paul Akers and Catherine Akers; and his siblings, Pam Sutton, Teresa Akers Smith, Karen Mitchell and Craig Akers. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
