Wert leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Wert’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Theta Overton Campbell; his parents, D. Wert Campbell Sr. and Jewell Robinson Campbell; his sister Miriam Dickson (Leon); his son-in-law Jan Jerome Willis; his children, Katrina Marler (Marcus) of Gallatin, Gina Willis of Waynesville, N. C. and John Wert; and his brother Lyman Campbell (Bettina) of Greenville, S. C.. He was also cherished by nine GRANDchildren, 4 GREAT grandchildren, and several nieces.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (290 E Winchester St, Gallatin, TN 37066).
In Lieu of Flowers the family kindly requests that donations be made to the 1st Baptist Church building fund (205 E. Main Street, Gallatin, TN 37066).
