He was predeceased by: his father Landon Joseph Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Tenpenny Thompson of Gallatin; his sons, William Joseph Thompson of Pleasant Shade and Stephen R. Thompson of Gallatin; his siblings, Ronnie Thompson (Debbie) of Ashland City and Mohona Ausderau (Bill) of Lebanon; and his grandchildren, Taylor Alexander Thompson and Casey Lee Thompson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin to assist the family with expenses.
