He is survived by: his wife Julia Wells Upton; his son Charles Andrew Upton, II (Jen); and his siblings-in-law, Al Wells, Mary Ann Bentley (David), Lillian Eaves (Richard), Patricia Burns (Lon) and Kathy Paryzek (James). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The military honors was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery (4000 Forest Hill Irene Rd, Memphis, TN 38119).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
