He was predeceased by: his father John James "Jim" Handwerker; his siblings, Bobby Handwerker and Julie Bratton; his brother-in-law Kevin Grauer; his nephews, Shea and Beau Grauer; and his great-niece Chloe Grauer-Lea.
He is survived by: his mother Geraldine "Jerry" Handwerker (Sullivan); his daughter Kathryn Mary Handwerker; his daughter-in-law Latoya Fortino; his grandson Nate Fortino; his siblings, Gail Handwerker Grauer (Kevin), Sister Mary Samuel Handwerker, Tim Handwerker (Joanna), Michael Handwerker (Alicia), Danny Handwerker (Missy), Mark Handwerker and Phillip Handwerker (Betty); his sister-in-law Benita Handwerker; his stepsons, Wayne, Jeff Logan and Gail Gilmore; and his sisters-in-law, Alicia and Joanna Handwerker. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their families, cousins, and countless friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Memphis Botanic Garden, in keeping with his love of plants, gardening, and natural beauty.
