With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Christine Surcey of Gray, Tennessee, born in Newport, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 11, 2026 at the age of 96. As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Christine may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Gillin and Minnie Gillin; her husband James Richard Surcey; and her children, Cathy Surcey King and Richard Allen Surcey.
She is survived by: her children, Katherine Brown (Phil), Debbie Greenway (David), James Christopher Surcey and Mark Surcey. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
