He was predeceased by: his father N. E. Worthington, Sr. (Gene); and his grandparents, N. E. Worthington, Sr., Julia Smith Worthington, Gene Sheets and Florine Eleam Sheets.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Sexton Worthington; his children, Elizabeth Callaway Worthington Dawson (Corey Michael Dawson) and Alexander Sheets Worthington; his mother Jeanie Sheets Worthington; his brother Greg Eugene Worthington; his siblings-in-law, Rev. Walter Humphrey Henegar and Anne Sexton Henegar; and his nieces, Kathryn, Abigail and Emily.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and St Jude's Children's Hospital.
