We bid farewell to Betty Jean Stockton (Greeneville, Tennessee), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on March 25, 2026 at the age of 89. Betty touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam Britton and Ora Britton; her husbands, Lewis Cogburn and Jay Stockton; her son Eric; her stepdaughter Sonja Thurston; her sister Elizabeth (Toostie); and her brother-in-law Edward Hope.
She is survived by: her sons, Doug (Debbie Cogburn) and Jeff Cogburn (Lainey); her grandchildren, Jessica, Charles Bellefant, Lillie, Stewart Cowles, Lydia and Wes Love; her great grandchildren, Katie Moua (Joy) and Susan Hope; her grandchildren, Ashton, Trinity, Avery Bellefant, Wesley Stevenson and Louie Keith Love; her stepchildren, Jimmy Stockton, Laurie Bishop, Diane Kirchner, Tony Stockton, Jill Kerkes and Dawn Schwarz; and her close friend Margaret Humbard. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Hardins Chapel 2nd Harvest Mobile Food Pantry fund in care of Chris Johnson, 112 Robert Harmon Rd., Greeneville, TN 37745; or any other worthy cause of your choice.
