He is survived by: his sons, Michael Carpenter (Jessie) of Johnson City and Wesley Carpenter (Kendra) of Knoxville; his sister Marsha Proctor (Truman) of North Carolina; his sister-in-law Kelly Clay (Chris) of Jonesborough; and his grandchildren, Easton Carpenter, Jones Conner, Caroline Carpenter and Sylvie Carpenter.
