He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Gillette and Martha Hurley Gillette; his wife Virginia Lucille Waddell Gillette; and his children, James Gillette (Cora), David Gillette and Donna Gillette.
He is survived by: his daughters, Virginia Hannah (Arthur) of Macedonia, OH and Vivian Gillette of Greeneville; and his sister-in-law Barbara Waddell Keasling. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
