He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul "Cow Daddy" Nye and Nellie Ruth Nye. He is survived by: his sons, Matthew and Spencer Nye; his brother Timothy Nye; and his grandson Canaan Nye.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Mountain Home National Cemetery.
