He was predeceased by: his parents, Stark Lawing and Vella Lawing; and his siblings, Marcella Foulks, Jackie Masters, Phyllis Swatzell, Patty Hensley, Joe D. "Bud" Lawing, Joe B. "Pete" Lawing, Gail Lawing, Bill Lawing and Terry Lawing.
He is survived by: his siblings, Betty Lou Lawing, Barbara Early, Joy (Dennis Daugherty) and Lloyd (Sandra Lawing); and his brother-in-law Rev. Gene Swatzell. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home (1125 Tusculum Blvd, Greeneville, TN 37745). A funeral service was held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
