We announce the death of Shirley Walker (Greeneville, Tennessee), who passed away on August 24, 2026, at the age of 83. Shirley will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her husband John R. Walker; her parents, Earl S. Crum and Della Johnson Crum; and her siblings, Rufus Crum and Betty Crum.
She is survived by: her daughter Leigh Ann Mitchell (Paul "Mitch"); her grandchildren, John Parker Mitchell (Yudi) and Marley Whitener (Seth); her great grandchild Olive; her siblings, Alice Bernard, Kim Morgan and John "Claude" Crum (Linda); her siblings-in-law, Marsha Crum, Nellie Blevins, Zan Walker and Dan Walker; her extended family, Amber, Chasity, Elsie, Kathy, Latoya, Libby, Lisa, Marlene, Martha, Mindy and Sheila; and her caregivers, Mary Lynn and Alan. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home (1125 Tusculum Blvd, Greeneville, TN 37745). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
