He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy Lee Melton; his parents, Comer Herbert Melton and Edith Mae Kilgore Melton; his brothers, Jim Melton and Stanley Melton; and his great great grandchild Mason VanHoosier.
He is survived by: his sons, Kenneth Melton (Cindy) and Phillip Melton (Rebecca); his sisters, Ann McNabb, Mary Jones, Joyce Whited and Jane Melton Gregg; his grandchildren, Misty Wong (Sergio), Jessica Gonzalez (Carmello), Chris Melton (Laura), Jennifer Rector (John), Stephanie Miller (Nate), Erica Fulfer and Emily Fulfer; his great grandchildren, Katie, Alexis, Cassie of Carlos, KC, Jazmyn, Jacob, Jeremy, Hailey, Thaliá, Julianá, Carmen, Kameron, Jaylen, Bryson and Hadley; and his great great grandchildren, Bella, Kenzie, Saban, Axel, Mallory and Lainey. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home (21 E 5th St, Jasper, TN 37347). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
