She was predeceased by : her parents, Herman Calhoun Underwood and Estelle Underwood (Toombs); and her husband James Norman Meeks. She is survived by : her children, Karen Meeks of Halls, TN, Robin Meeks of Halls, TN, Phil Meeks of Halls, TN and Eric Meeks of Halls, TN; and her brothers, Ernest Underwood of Ellijay, GA and B. C. Underwood of Halls, TN.. She is also survived by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
