He was predeceased by: his parents, Earlie Rufus Vernon and Margie Elizabeth Vernon; his sisters, Elizabeth Vernon and Katherine Vernon; and his grandchildren, Chase Alexander Vernon, Regan Hope Vernon and Leia Prior.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Beuk Vernon; his children, Randy Keith Vernon (Carol), Rod Garth Vernon (Bonnie), Ryan Daniel Vernon (Jennifer) and Lauren Elizabeth Prior (Adam); his grandchildren, Courtney (Bill), Dane (Caroline), Garth, Brock, Brandon (Melissa), Bryce (Patience), Julia (Josh), Grant, Riley (Ivi), Reece, Ben, Andi and Aslan; and his sisters, Joyce Stacey, Brenda Hartstein, Linda Lambert, Mary Hamilton and Teresa Rodriguez. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren.
