He was predeceased by : his son Travis John Butler; his parents, Elmer Butler and Emma Miles Mikel; his grandmother Rhoda Butler; and his aunts and uncles, Delmer Butler, Warren Butler, Edith Gregory and Beulah Butler.

He is survived by : his wife Jane Butler of Harriman, TN; his son Jason Butler (Janet) of Manchester, NH; his grandchildren, Alexandria Butler, Megan Porter (Aaron), Steven Butler, Michelle Butler (Brandon Bullis) and Kevin Butler An Expected; and his sister Lisa Loden of Rockwood, TN.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Evans Mortuary (805 N Gateway Ave, Rockwood, TN 37854). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
