He was predeceased by: his father William Cate; and his brother David Thomas Cate. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Cate; his son Johnathan Cate (Samatha Lanning); his brother Allen; his sister-in-law Sandy Cate; his mother Betty Cate; and his mother-in-law Mary Ryan.
